The Decent is an independent, decentralized AI agent platform. We are not affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or any major AI corporation. The platform is operated by an anonymous core team and governed by open-source community principles.

Waitlist email addresses. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address to notify you when your beta access is ready. We use this only for that purpose.

The Decent is built local-first. Your workspace configuration, installed packs, economy mode settings, and API credentials are stored in your browser's localStorage — on your device, under your control. This data is never transmitted to The Decent's servers.
When you bring your own Claude API key (BYOK), API calls go directly from your device to Anthropic's API. The Decent never sees your key or your prompt/completion data.
The Decent uses Nostr — an open, decentralized protocol — for optional agent-to-agent communication. If you opt into the mesh network:
We do not use tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers. The only storage we use is your browser's localStorage for your own workspace state.
Email addresses collected for the waitlist are stored securely via Netlify Forms. We use this data solely to contact you about your beta access. We will not send you marketing emails without your explicit consent, and we will not share your email with any third party.
To be removed from the waitlist, email hello@thedecent.ai and we will delete your record within 48 hours.
The Decent is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated effective date. We will notify waitlist members of material changes via email.
